The initial years at SG Automotive concentrated solely on manufacturing. However, it was identified that in order to add value to our customers, SG Automotive should design and manufacture new products. Firstly those designs were only small adjustments of parts of our standard production, later we were trusted to design and put to life more complex and hard to make items. One of first big projects was to manage the complete process of design and production planning of a new warning light for a customer Schefenacker. The complete product has been successfully brought to life and has replaced the very old standard warning light used and sold before. New light has many advantages; it has been produced utilising LED technology. This guarantees long life, small energy consumption as well as an attractive design. It has a yellow blinking function, but it can also be lit in a bright white colour.



LED technology has many advantages and has been very successful in replacing standard bulb applications. It's low power consumption and small package size has made it very versatile and useful in all parts of automotive illumination. With complete "in house" design and development SG Automotive have developed and produced items seen below.



New socket design together with Phillips equipped with Hyper bulb, has become a standard part of a rear mirror on new DC Sprinter vans. The new socket is combining many parts into one single easy to use solution.



With all the resources needed, there was a challenge to design and put in production an LED rear light. Many adjustments to light flow were needed to satisfy the demands of homologation laboratories. First prototypes have gone through all necessary tests last year, and have already been put in serial production. Successful design means also cost efficient product. With effective construction we have achieved this as well. We are looking forward to see many of our LED lights being built in various vehicles all over the world.

The licence plate illumination is one of the solutions we have patented. We believe that the solution has a bright future. The licence plate is to be illuminated up side down with complete LED illumination. So instead of usual two lights at the back of vehicles we will see in a future only plastic holder which will hold and illuminate the license plate. Using that product will mean cost saving and an attractive illumination at the back of vehicles. Many customers have already shown an interest for using that solution for their vehicles in a future

With contacts with our customers all over the world, we have gone also into the marine segment. Our first underwater lights for yachts have passed all necessary tests and are ready for serial production. Built with special very bright LED's are a good replacement to usual bulb yacht lights. Attractive design, low power consumption and many more, those are the advantages of our new marine product.

 

Side markers are obligatory parts on transport vehicles. The first versions with bulbs were very big, expensive and robust. With LED technology a wide spectrum of possibilities has opened. Versions with many LED's have now been replaced with single LED. One LED does it all. So simple.



Redesigning all available illumination sources within the automotive industry into LED versions has become our speciality. With electronic, harness and design as well as plastic parts production we are fully equipped for production of our ideas from concept to end product.
